I got to know Aunt Lucy who is the mother in law of my good friend. It’s not everyday that you get to meet your friend’s mother in law, so I was excited to offer Aunt Lucy my service – particularly when I heard that her custom-made dress from another designed had fallen short of expectation.
Sometimes when such case happens and time has run out, many will resort to rental gowns – as did Aunt Lucy. Like all clients who have had a run with failed orders, I could feel her disappointment beneath her bubbly and cheerful personality. But that all changed when she saw this dramatic purple blue evening gown.
As she ran her hands through the mikado fabric and felt every hand-sewn details on the lace baroque embroidery, I could tell that she was falling in love with it. The cutting was an effortless A-line gown, just the right style for the ladies. Added with the wing on the both sides, Aunt Lucy wasted no time and tried it on her.
To our amazement and hers, this dress fitted like a dream. From the upper body, waist, till the length – not one alteration was needed! The bold color also exuded a very lovely contrast on her fair skin tone. All I can say is, it’s meant to be and that it’s definitely love at first fit.
After a happy browsing and fitting session, the rest is history. I’m so glad that I got to be a part of Aunt Lucy’s quest to find her perfect dress for the special occasion. She is such a great person to be around with and she deserves to look her best at all times.
